Search Dialog

The Search Dialog lets you search for plug-ins by typing in a simple phrase. It was added because X-Setup includes so many settings, it's hard to find a particular settings if you can only remember what it was for, but not the exact location of it.

Menu: Extra -> Search...
For possible keyboard shortcuts, see Keyboard Shortcuts.
For possible inclusion of this item inside the toolbar, see Toolbar.

Using the search dialog is quite simple: Just enter the phrase, you would like to search for, into the field "Search for". Press the "Start!" button to start the search. While searching, the progress bar at the bottom of the dialog will inform you how far X-Setup is with the searching. While the search is in progress, you can always click "Stop Searching" to interrupt the searching.

If X-Setup was able to find item that match you searched phrase, it will display the found items inside the "Results" pane. This pane is divided into three columns:

To open one of the plug-ins you have found, all you need to do is click on its entry in the Search dialog, and X-Setup will open it for you. If you want to try another plug-in from the list of results, press F3 to re-open the Search window, where you can click on another plug-in. Note: If you have hidden any plug-ins through the Options dialog (for example, system critical plug-ins or those which are not designed for your OS), you will be told that you cannot open this plug-in.

Once you have finished with searching, you can click the "Close window" button to dismiss the search dialog, but the search results are stored in memory, and will reappear the next time you open the dialog.

To clear all results, click the "Clear Results" button.
